Chakra is a Sanskrit word which means "wheel." Chakras are considered energy processing centers and our connection to our spiritual essence. All the eastern based holistic therapy at the Red Lotus can help stimulate and align these vital energy centers.
There are seven basic chakras that exist within the subtle body. Each chakra center is identified by a specific number of lotus petals. The lotus of the heart chakra has twelve petals and is associated with love.
Chakra One: a 4-petalled orange-red lotus located at the base of the spine, associated with survival. Its element is earth.
Chakra Two: a 6-petalled bluish-red lotus located in the lower abdomen is associated with emotions and sexuality. Its element is water.
Chakra Three: a 10-petalled blue-black lotus located in the solar plexus is associated with personal power, will, and self-esteem. Its element is fire.
Chakra Four: a 12-petalled red lotus located near the heart is associated with love. Its element is air.
Chakra Five: a 16-petalled purple lotus located in the throat is associated with communication and creativity. Its element is sound.
Chakra Six: a 2-petalled white lotus located in the center of the forehead is associated with clairvoyance, intuition and imagination. Its element is light.
Chakra Seven: a 1,000-petalled rainbow lotus located at the top of the head is associated with knowledge, understanding and transcendent consciousness. Its element is thought.
