Our mission is to heal the heart, body and soul through the process of recovery, psychotherapy, and practicing eastern holistic healing methods.
VISION
Our vision is that you find inner peace, harmony and balance and let go of self-sabotaging patterns and behaviors that no longer serve you.
PURPOSE
Red Lotus Recovery is organized to meet the following needs:
1. Long term recovery housing programs that respect diversity;
2. Affordable psychotherapy; and
3. Eastern holistic mind/body methods of healing such as yoga, meditation, Thai yoga bodywork, reflexology and reiki.
The founder, Remmawii aka Karuna Kristjanson is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and a Master Addiction Counselor. Clifford Ehmke MD, is a board certified psychiatrist and the Medical Director. Both individuals are experienced and compassionate psychotherapists. Red Lotus is privately funded.
TREATMENT PHILOSOPHY
We view anyone who comes to us as a seeker who is motivated to discover their full potential. We are honored to be part of this journey to wholeness. While some of our clients require the structure of our residential programs, the majority are seen only for psychotherapy or receiving one of the eastern based holistic therapy. Treatment services are provided to meet specific individual needs based on clinical evaluations.
In our residential programs, we do not subscribe to any particular faith or religion. We emphasize spiritual growth as a primary task and not religious affiliations. Our clients represent diverse religious backgrounds including Jewish, Hindus, Buddhists, and Christians but not necessarily practicing any religion. We honor and respect our diversity.
Symbology of the Red Lotus: the essence of the "Red Lotus" is the heart and the transforming power of love. The lotus flower begins its life in muddy water and grows towards the light to bloom. This process is a good metaphor for the process of becoming conscious, awake and aware. The heart chakra has 12 lotus petals and there are 12-Steps in the recovery process. The lotus flower is also associated with enlightenment in eastern spiritual traditions.
